Anchor points are what a worker's life depends on when they clip on at height. Corrosion, loose fixings, damaged roof membranes and anchors installed into unsuitable substrates are all common, and none of them are visible from the ground.

We inspect every anchor against BS 7883, proof load test where the system type or manufacturer requires it, and give each anchor a clear result, a tag and a location on your roof plan.

FAQs

Common questions

How often must anchor points be tested?

BS 7883 recommends inspection at least every 12 months by a competent person, with more frequent checks where anchors are exposed or heavily used.

Do all anchors need a pull test?

No. Proof load testing depends on the anchor type, how it is fixed and the manufacturer's instructions. We record why each test was or wasn't carried out.

What if an anchor fails?

It is tagged out of use on site, recorded as FAIL in the report, and we advise whether repair or replacement is better value.
